Manhattan: 11th Avenue - 35th Street (West)

Eleventh Ave. (right), at the N.E. corner of West 35th Street (left), showing a rear view of the Macy warehouse at this location. A new foundation is being installed under this structure to permit the New York Central Railroad tracks to pass under it at various angles and elevations and to equip it with an outside elevator and a 5 car sidetrack and freight platform. The streets in front and alongside were elevated ten feet, so that the former second floor was promoted to the first. July 24, 1937. Gift of New York Central System Publicity Bureau.
