Queens: Broadway - 51st Avenue

Broadway, at the S.W. corner of 51st Avenue, showing the original St. James Protestant Episcopal Church, built in 1735, and now (1941) known as the Parish Hall of St. James P.E. Church. Mr. Ogden states that the Newtown Historical Society, of whose council Dr. Paltsits, former head of the American History Division of the New York Public Library is a member, was organized in the summer of 1941, in this building. Views 1 and 2 show the rear of the place, on 51st Avenue, and view 3 the front, on Broadway. The new St. James Church is at the N.E. corner of Broadway and Corona Avenue. View 1: Eugene L.
