Manhattan: Broadway - [59th Street]

Columbus Circle: The Christopher Columbus Monument viewed northeastward towards and up Broadway. One inscription attributes its erection: "By the initiative of Il Progresso Italo-Americano, the 1st Italian daily newspaper in the U. S." Another reads: "To Christopher Columbus, the Italians resident in America-----on the 12th of October, 1892, the 4th centenary of the discovery of America, in imperishable remembrance." To the right is the old Baltimore & Ohio Railroad station occupying the triangular site between Broadway and Central Park West (Eighth Avenue). To the left and not shown is West 59th.
