Manhattan: 36th Street (East) - 1st Avenue

East 36th Street, north side, west from a point midway between First and Second Avenues, and across the latter, to show St, Gabriels Parochial School under demolition. The Church of this name is to the rear, facing on the south side of East 37th Street, and is in the same condition. The three story Hall adjoins the School and will shortly follow. To the west is the New York Public Library branch building identified with this Church. This will remain standing until early 1940 when this will be razed also. View No. 3 is photographed from St. Gabriels Park and shows the shadowy outlines of the Chrysler and Lincoln Buildings across the School and Library respectively.
