Manhattan: Centre Street - Leonard Street

Centre Street, west side, from Leonard to Franklin Street's, showing the entrance to the original "Tombs". This was erected in 1840, and replaced the Colonial "Bridewell" of Revolutionary War fame that stood on the Commons (City Hall Park) from 1735 to 1838.
