General view - Brooklyn - Hanson Place (North).

A general view north from the Y.M.C.A. located at 55 Hanson Place. This view is limited on the right by S. Elliot Place; to the right of which is seen the Martyrs Monument in Fort Greene Park. In the center of the view, extending north, is clearly seen the west side of Fort Greene Place. Across the face of the view is the Fulton Street Elevated line of the B.M.T. The Lafayette Street Station is at the junction of Lafayette Ave., Fort Greene Place and Fulton Street. At the left is the Smith-Gray Building (clock in tower). This section is known as the lower hill section of Brooklyn. Indistinctly seen on the horizon is an outline of lower Manhattan, with the Brooklyn, and the Manhattan Bridges thereof. June 1926.
