Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 36th Street (East)

Madison Ave., west side, south from East 37th to 36th Streets. To the left appears a portion of the Combustion Engineering Building occupying the avenue frontage from 36th to 35th Streets. The N. Y. Times reports the proposed erection of a 14 story apartment house replacing No's. 220-30 Madison Ave. and 16-18 E. 37th Street. This is to cost $1,050,000 under plans drawn by Kenneth B. Norton, architect. View No. 2 is limited and shows this site, the S. W. corner of East 37th Street. The J. R. Morgan house is to the left (not shown) and faces these buildings.
