Manhattan: Park Avenue - 35th Street

(1) Park Ave., east side, north from 35th Street, showing the old Robb mansion, occupied since 1922 by the Advertising Club, on the N.E. corner of 35th Street. At the S.E. corner of 37th Street may be noted the 9-story apartment built in 1923 on the site of the old Judge Russell house, and behind it, on the horizon, the towering Chanin Building recently erected at Lexington Ave. and 42nd Street. In the left background may be seen the Grand Central Station and the New York Central Building (1928) beyond it. March 27, 1929. P. L. Sperr. According to the New York Times of October 18, 1937, No. 29 Park Ave. (third building from right in No. 2) has been purchased by the Association for the Improvement of the Poor (A.I.C.P.) and will be utilized as a dental clinic to replace the present clinic on the N.E. corner of Lexington Ave. and East 22nd Street, which will be demolished for an addition to the Childrens Court. No. 29, was erected in 1908 by Mrs. A. Murray Young, as a copy of a London Residence.
