Manhattan: Rutherford Place - 16th Street (East)
Rutherford Place, at the N. W. corner of East 16th Street, showing St. Georges P. E. Church. This edifice erected in 1845, replaced the first church, a chapel of Trinity at Beekman and Cliff Street's. The latter was erected in 1752 and was known as the "Swamp Church". The sharp peek of the Memorial House (erected in 1888, the gift of J. P. Morgan, a communicant) appears at the left margin.
