Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 38th Street (East)

Madison Ave., west side, from East 38th (left) to 39th (right) Streets, showing an entire block front that is owned by the Baker family. The photographer is viewing westward across a demolition on the east side of the Ave. and upon which an open-air car parking enterprise will continue in business until the present (1938). This set consists of three views. The former residence of William Goadby Loew, at the S.W. corner of Madison Ave. and East 39th Street (shown on the right) has been purchased by the Henry Visiting Nurse Service. They will move their executive offices from No. 99 Park Ave., a structure that they have occupied since 1921 and which has been purchased by the City as a portion of the site for the new Appellate Division Court House.
