Queens: Queens Boulevard - 54th Avenue

Queens Boulevard, south side, between Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth Avenues, showing in three views the First Presbyterian Church of Newtown. Views one and two show the front and rear of the new edifice. John Goldsmith Payntor who died in 1891 left the parish sufficient money for the erection of the stone structure. The cornerstone was laid July 6, 1893 and the edifice was dedicated May 5, 1895. View No. 3 is taken from a point south of Justice Avenue, between Fifty-fifth and Fifty-second Avenues, viewing south and shows in the foreground the old Church and cemetery on the north side of the Boulevard between Fifty-fifth Avenue and Broadway.
