Manhattan: Greenwich Street - Christopher Street

(1) Clearing, 1-7 Christopher Street at the N.W. corner of Greenwich Avenue (right). A new apartment building is to be erected. Nos. 1 to 7 Christopher Street and 3-13 Greenwich Avenue were demolished for its site. No. 15 Greenwich Avenue, an old four-story brick house, was not carefully shored up when No. 13 was demolished, and consequently collapsed. For some years following its site will remain vacant. (2) No. 1 (1-7) Christopher Street, the completed building, beginning its first season, a year later, seen across the parking space at the S.W. corner where 1-5 Greenwich Avenue and 2-6 Christopher Street used to stand.
