Manhattan: Park Row - Church Street
Park Row, Manhattan, is the street vertically bisecting this photograph. The New York Times building was at nos. 37-44 Park Row, with no. 44 (facing the viewer) as the main entrance. The Post Office Building (right) fronted on Mail Street, opposite City Hall Park. This photograph was taken between 1875 (when the newly constructed Post Office was first occupied) and 1888 (when the New York Times building was razed).
