Manhattan: Park Avenue - 50th Street

Park Avenue north from 50th Street, showing buildings along the west side, also the parks in the center, shaved to make room for more traffic. The five-story building between 52nd and 53rd Street is the Racquet and Tennis Club, and behind it on the horizon rises the Tower of the Fuller Building at Madison Avenue and 57th Street. The small buildings in the block above, 53rd to 54th Street, are much older than their surroundings, dating back to at least 1890. On the east side, just north of St. Bartholomew's, is the Hotel Ambassador. Summer 1929. Ewing Galloway, Photographer.
