First Avenue, south from a point midway between E. 27th and 26th Streets and across the latter. Individuals in the foreground are awaiting an Avenue C Bus at what is its northerly terminus: Bellevue Hospital. The hospital is on the opposite side of this thoroughfare and does not appear, tho the clearance to the south does.
