Manhattan: 4th Avenue - 32nd Street

Fourth Avenue, west side, from 32nd to 34th Streets, showing the old Park Avenue Hotel and the new Vanderbilt Hotel nearing completion. The view is from the roof of the old Fourth Avenue Railway (Metropolitan Railway) carbarns. At the N.W. corner of 34th Street, the first building on that side of Park Avenue, stands the Unitarian Church of the Messiah, later known as the Community Church, erected in 1867. To the right, on the east side of the Avenue opposite the Vanderbilt Hotel, stands the 71st Regiment Armory (1893). 1911.
