Manhattan: 6th Avenue - Canal Street

Sixth Avenue, south across Canal Street, showing this new diagonal extension to the Avenue. Dominating the view is the New York Telephone Company Building. It occupies the plot bounded by Sixth Avenue, from Lispenard to Walker Streets, east to Church Street. Note the old 6th Avenue "El" line running on West Broadway. This was taken down in 1939.
