Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 34th Street

Fifth Avenue, at the S. W. corner of West 34th Street, showing the remaining Astor home outlined against the Hotel Waldorf. The latter stands on the site of the other of these twin houses. The remaining dwelling is to go the same way, providing the site for the second half of the combined Hotel Waldorf-Astoria. In time, the Empire State Building will succeed these.
