Islands - Barren Island (North) - East shore.

(1) Barren Island, east shore, north from the foot of Hassock Street, showing, in the distance, a disposal plant for the conversion of dead animals into glue. This building, in disuse for years, because of its high chimney that was a menace to aviators at Floyd Bennett Field, was demolished in 1937. July 26, 1931. P. L. Sperr.
