Richmond: Richmond Terrace - Pelton Avenue

(1) 1262 Richmond Terrace, east side, south of Pelton Avenue, showing a front view of the Pelton House. It was in part erected about 1730, another part was added about 1776, and was the headquarters of General Cortlandt Skinner during the Revolutionary War. It is said that major André was billeted here during the Revolutionary War, and that Prince William Henry, afterwards King William IV, was here once. Rockwell Kent, nationally known artist, occupied for a time a part of the house.
