A general view northeastward from atop the Bank of Manhattan Building at No. 40 Wall Street, north side, west of William Street, showing tall modern structures forming the insurance unit of the financial zone. These are popularly known as the John Street buildings as they all front on that thoroughfare which runs between them. From left to right they are, the 25 story Insurance Center Building (No. 80 John Street); the 25 story National Board of Fire Underwriters Building (No. 99 John Street); the 28 story No. 90 John Street Building; the 26 story No. 111 and the 35 story No. 120 John Street Buildings. The latter is shown solely in View 2 opposite the New York Steam Company plant. In the background is the East River and its Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges.
