Manhattan: 6th Avenue - 24th Street (West)

Sixth Avenue, north from W. 24th Street, showing the "El" structure darkening the street, and in turn being overshadowed by the Empire State Building. The photographer is viewing towards Herald Square where several large structures appear, prominent of which is the Hotel McAlpin. At this date, the "El" is under demolition, the same has not advanced to this point. Buildings at the left are on the west side of this thoroughfare and are more or less nondescript.
