Islands - Ward's and Randall's Islands.

Wards and Randalls Islands as viewed in a northwestward direction from above the Queens shore of the East River. Beyond same are the Boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx, divided by the Harlem River. This water-way also separates the islands from the Harlem sector of Manhattan. Note in the far distance the North (Hudson) River and the Jersey Palisades. At the right margin appears the Hellgate Bridge of the New York Central Railroad. Today (1938), the modern Triborough Bridge parallels this structure, connecting the two boroughs and the two islands.
