Manhattan: Broadway - 39th Street
Broadway, east side, from 40th to 39th Streets. This corner building contains a saloon operated by Kid Mc Coy, of pugilistic fame, the inventor of the justly celebrated corkscrew punch, which is a blow struck in the prize ring, and not a cocktail. This building, and the Empire Theatre, which adjoins it, will still stand in 1936. The corner building, however, will be replaced by the Lefcourt-Manhattan Building, and the Casino Theatre below it, will give way to the Bricken-Casino Building. About 1900. International News.
