11th Street (formerly Hammond Street), east on south side from and including the Protestant Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist on the S.W. corner of Waverly Place, with St. Vincent's Hospital at 1 Seventh Avenue in the background. This church was opened for services in May, 1856. May 20, 1933. P. L. Sperr.
