Richmond: Arthur Kill Road - Center Street

Arthur Kill Road, north side, adjoining (to the west) Center Street. The left section of this combined building is the old Vorleezer House, reputed to be the oldest known elementary school building in the United States. It also housed the first church on Staten Island. The two houses combined constituted the Arlington Hotel, owned by A. Rosenberg, according to 1898-1907 maps. Views 1,2: P. L. Sperr View 3: W.P.A.
