Manhattan: 10th Avenue - 20th Street (West)

Tenth Avenue, west side, south from W. 20th Street, showing an open area between 19th and 17th Streets traversed by the raised road bed of the New York Central Railroad. Seen a cross the same are the structures of the Merchants Refrigerating Company and the National Biscuit Company between 17th and 15th Streets. These are emphasized in No. 3. Note the diesel drawn train using the street bed. This feature has now been eliminated and such trains run on the raised tracks seen in No. 1. View No. 2 is similar to the preceding from a point slightly southward and shows demolition debris on the 19th to 18th Streets block front. Note also the Railroad yard between 18th and 17th Streets.
