Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 43rd Street

Fifth Avenue, east side, from East 43rd (right) to 45th (left) Street's, showing prominently the Temple Emanu El. This is at the N. E. corner of 43rd Street, and was erected in 1868. It will be demolished in 1927 and replaced with the office structure, the Lefcourt-National Building. The fenced plot on the right (S. E. corner of 43rd St.) was the site of the former "Boss" Tweed home. The Postal Life Insurance Co. Bldg. was erected there later. About 1890 Thru the New York Historical Society
