Manhattan: 8th Avenue - 52nd Street (West)

Eighth Avenue, east side, north from W. 52nd Street. The 6th Avenue Elevated Line and its 8th Avenue station are on 53rd Street. Buildings to the right are shortly to come down. Construction of the Municipal Subway under the Avenue (note the planking) necessitated the sinking of a work shaft and a storage yard. Two buildings at 53rd Street will remain.
