Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 33rd Street
Fifth Avenue, south from 37th Street, showing Empire State Building, with observation tower uncovered. It was originally planned to use this tower as a mooring mast, where transatlantic dirigibles could receive and discharge passengers in the heart of the city. So far, however, its sole use has been as an observation tower (1935). December 29, 1930.
