Manhattan: Bleecker Street - Carmine Street
(1) Bleecker Street, south side, from Carmine to Hancock Streets, the southernmost two blocks of that section of Bleecker Street which was originally Herring Street. The old Church of Our Lady of Pompeii is seen at the S.W. corner of Downing Street. Beyond the six-story building at the right, notice Nos. 226-220, frame houses with brick fronts. Late 1926. (2) A view from the roof of 24 Minetta Lane, showing the same part of Bleecker Street during the construction of the city subway and of the Sixth Avenue Extension, which will absorb all of Bleecker Street on the southwest side from numbers 224 to 208.
