Bronx: Hollywood Avenue - Schurz Avenue

Hollywood Ave., east side, between Schurz Ave. and the East River (directly within the grounds of the Silver Beach private real estate development), showing the Robert House. It was built by the founder of Robert College, Constantinople. It is also called the James Fenimore Cooper House, after the renowned author who lived and worked here for a number of years. The house is still (1938) inhabited and is said, by its present owner, to be about 170 years old. The view shows the house after it has been renovated. June 1926. Brown Brothers.
