(1) Communist Demonstration: 1934, No. 1. This demonstration takes place every year on May Day, in Union Square. All members of the Communist Party and its many branches (some of which are frankly Communist, such as the Young Communists' League, while others employ non-partisan titles), together with Communist sympathizers, are expected to turn out and demonstrate. As the Socialist Party also demonstrates in Union Square on May Day, clashes between these bitter rivals are frequent. May 1, 1934. P. L. Sperr. (2) Communist Demonstration: 1934, No. 2.
