Islands - Bedloe's Island - [Statue of Liberty - The Narrows, New York Bay.]

Bedloe's Island, south west, by south of Manhattan; formerly occupied by Fort Wood, commanding the Narrows, New York Bay. The Statue of Liberty, was erected upon the central parapet in 1886. Though Fort Wood has been come obsolete, the Island has acquired world fame, since the erection of the Statue. About 1930. Ewing Galloway. Photostat Neg # 321
