Fifth Ave., east side, south from East 42nd to 41st Streets. Building shown, is Rutgers Female College (founded 1838 by Chancellor Ferris). This photograph was presented to the graduating class of 1875. This institution lost this property, at a later date, and moved to 56 West 55th Street. 1875. Gift of Mrs. C.M. Benson.
