Manhattan: 59th Street (East) - Madison Avenue

(1) 21 to 3 East 59th Street, north side, west from Madison to Fifth Aves. and showing prominently a new 2-story structure at the N.W. corner of Madison Ave. that bears No. 21 East 59th Street, and 640 Madison Ave. This edifice replaced the 10-story Hoffman Arms. Continuing west of same are three 4-story structures, Nos. 19 to 15 inclusive. The Plaza Art Building (No. 13-9) was formerly called the Monroe Building. West of the 7-story structure (No. 7-5) that adjoins the latter, is the Sherry Netherland Hotel which is at the N.E. corner of Fifth Ave. and bears No. 3 (also 873 Fifth Ave.) P. L. Sperr.
