Manhattan: 25th Street (West) - 8th Avenue

West 25th Street -- East from No 267 West 25th Street, east from (No. 267), a point east of Eighth Ave. The 12 and 16 story buildings facing each other, this side of 7th Ave. are respectively, the Graphic Arts Building and the National Cloak and Suit Company. No. 2 of this set shows the West Side Lumber Company at No. 223-243. Adjacent to same is a clearance where a row of 3 story structures stood which bore No's 219-231. March 21, 1938. P.L. Sperr. According to the New York Sun of September 22, 1938, a six-story apartment house is to be erected on the site shown in the picture (219-229 West 25th Street). This building will be erected at a cost of $175,000. It will have a base 126x38.7 and will contain a total of 171 rooms, with eleven apartments on a floor.
