A general view eastward towards the East River from the Chanin Building at the S.W. corner of Lexington Avenue and E. 42nd Street, showing in a set of three views, a panoramic arrangement. View 1 emphasizes the midtown East Side area with its New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical College Center; No. 2, the publishing zone at 43rd, 44th and 45th Streets; and No. 3, Tudor City and the Edison electric plant. In the background, across the River, is the Long Island City sector of the Borough of Queens. Note the Queens-boro Bridge extending towards same across the river and Welfare Island.
