Celebrations - Parades - Municipal Events: New Yorks welcome to Wiley Post and Harold Gatty after their circumnavigation of the world in 8 days. This motor cavalcade is on Broadway, progressing northward to the City Hall, where Mayor James J. Walker will present gold medals to each flier. The photographers vantage point is at Maiden Lane and shows in 3 views the momentary heros passing that point. These "welcomes" were an outstanding feature of the Walker mayoralty. July 3, 1931.
