West 18th Street, at, adjoining and east of the N.E. corner of Ninth Avenue (elevated line thereon) showing prominently Textile High extending thru the block to 19th Street. Upon this site formerly stood P.S. 56. The photographer is viewing northeastward from a roof top at the S.W. corner.
