Manhattan: 9th Avenue - 18th Street
Ninth Avenue, east side, at 18th Street. The houses in this picture from No. 112 in the right foreground to No. 128 on the N. E. corner of 18th Street are frame structures which will stand in 1934. McParland's Malt and Hops Store, in the centre, is an interesting product of the rapidly dying prohibition era. Stores such as this, selling ingredients and equipment for home brewing, were legion; but the advent of legal beer on April 7, 1933, was a blow which most of them failed to survive. 1932. J.
