Manhattan: 125th Street (West) - Amsterdam Avenue

(1) W. 125th Street, eastward across Amsterdam Avenue to Roosevelt Square. At this point this thoroughfare bends, and Hancock Place continues to St. Nicholas Avenue; the low white building in the background being on Hancock Place, between Morningside and St. Nicholas Avenues. Note at the left the frame structure standing at the N.E. corner of Amsterdam Avenue. A five story tenement separates this from two additional buildings of similar construction. March 1928. Geo. L. Balgue (2) A view in the opposite direction from Roosevelt Square showing prominently the north side of this thoroughfare between Morningside and Amsterdam Avenues. The frame building at the right is No. 415 and is at the aforementioned bend. Morningside Avenue is to the rear of the photographer and from which he is viewing westward towards the Broadway arch (West Side I.R.T. subway). Geo. L. Balgue
