Queens: Horace Harding Boule - Colonial Avenue

Flushing Meadow Park: (World's Fair Grounds). A set of 4 views showing what was once the Corona Dump for the City of New York. This putrid area has been converted into a place of beauty. Here, where once there were refuse heaps, will be held the greatest World's Fair of modern times. View number one is taken from 111th Street and Forty-sixth Avenue, looking eastward. The main exposition center will be at about where the train and steam shovel are seen in this view. View number two is taken looking northward from Horace Harding Boulevard at about Colonial Avenue, and shows an area that is now covered with the Grand Central Parkway, the Trylon and Perisphere, and the west side of the fair grounds. View number 3 and 4 are somewhat similar to view number two. In view 4 are seen hundreds of rust eaten hot water tanks doting the refuse heap. October 1928. Views 2&4: May 1923. View 3: October 1924.
