Manhattan: 6th Avenue - 16th Street (West)
Sixth Avenue, north from W. 16th Street, showing the vicinity that was for a period the shopping centre. Under construction underground is the new municipal subway. The "El" structure at this date is being demolished. The station of same is at 18th Street where Siegel-Cooper and B. Altman held sway on opposite sides of this thoroughfare. The latter occupied the structure on the west side from 18th to 19th Streets. This building appears at the left center of View No. 2, being photographed from 17th Street.
