Manhattan: Park Avenue - 49th Street

Park Avenue, east side, south from 51st Street, showing St. Bartholomew's Church (1918), and the new Waldorf Astoria (1931) between 50th and 49th Streets. At the foot of the avenue rises the New York Central Building, No. 230, through which traffic travels to and from the Pershing Square Viaduct. In the background the towers of the Chrysler and Chanin buildings may be seen against the sky. To the extreme left, behind St. Bartholomew's rises the R.C.A. tower; and on the horizon directly in line with St. Bartholomew's dome may be seen the towers of St. Agnes' Roman Catholic Church, on 43rd Street east of Lexington Avenue.
