Manhattan: 6th Avenue - Broadway

Sixth Avenue and Broadway, north from West 34th Street, showing the subway construction shaft occupying the former park site that was identified as Herald Square. This received its name from the newspaper plant above. One-half of this site still contains the low original building, the remainder being improved with the towering Herald Square Building. Broadway is on the left and 6th Avenue on the right. The former thoroughfare is the vantage point for the photographer in view 2 and from which he is viewing north-eastward towards the office building at the N.
