Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 42nd Street
Fifth Avenue, east side, from East 42nd to 43rd Streets, as viewed from a vantage point in front of the old reservoir. Note the horse-drawn coach southward bound. To the left is Temple Emanu-El, a synagogue replaced in 1927 by the towering Lefcourt National Building. This is at the N. E. corner of East 43rd Street. All of these structures are gone in 1940 with the exception of the building bearing the signs. 1898-9
