Manhattan: Bowery - Delancey Street
The Bowery (Third Avenue "El" thereon), at Delancey Street (foreground, and which becomes Kenmare Street after crossing the Bowery) as viewed southwestward from the subsequently razed Libbys Hotel. Note the Woolworth Bldg. outline at the left and the New York Telephone Bldg. at the right. Beneath the latter appears the dome of the Central office of the New York Police Department. This area, a portion of the old Bayard Farm, is to the north of Chinatown and is a densely ghetto district, being populated mainly by individuals of Italian extraction. February 14, 1930 P.L. Sperr
