Queens: Jamaica Avenue - 168th Street

Jamaica Ave., (tracks thereon) north side, at, adjoining and west of 168th St., showing at the corner the Daniel Gracy house and store of 1873. One Geis was the owner in 1891. In 1923, the Long Island Daily Press occupied the premises. A saloon once owned by Martin Prince and later by one Klinger also occupied this corner. A four story brick structure was on this site in 1934. The building in this view was erected in 1872 or 73 when a fire demolished those then standing. The house adjoining the corner on Jamaica Ave. still stands in 1934. March 1923 Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
