Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 33rd Street
A general view northward from atop the Empire State Building, at Fifth Avenue and W. 34th Street, showing the Grand Central Zone (42nd Street) of midtown Manhattan. All of these buildings are east of Fifth Avenue which would be on the extreme left. The photographer is viewing towards the Hellgate Bridge and the Long Island Sound. To the right is the East River and the Borough of Queens. Note Welfare Island dividing the former and forming a base for the midstream supports of the Queensboro Bridge. About 1933 Views 1, 2 and 3
